Downloading & Viewing Instructions
We realize that it is impossible for you to be able to view each case online and be able to post your comments on the case without careful perusal of the whole case at one's leisure. We suggest that you download (ie transfer to your own computer) the relevant case and you can then log off the Internet, thus permitting you to post your comments on treatment planning or diagnosis once you have carefully considered all relevant information.
Each case presentation has been designed in thumbnail (small image) format to enable the user to browse through the different presentations. If you find a case presentation that you are interested in, you can then download the whole case. Remember that you can always click on any of the slides or on the radiograph thumbnails to view them on your browser to help you decide on which case you want to download.

Fundamental Programs Required
In order to view each case there are certain programs required:
Unzip program such as WinZip or any unzip program to expand or uncompress the downloaded slides and radiographs. These were placed on the web in a compressed or zipped format to decrease file size and hence save download time.
A graphics viewer that can view the intraoral photographs and full mouth radiographs as a slide show to allow the viewer to flip back and forth from one slide to another. In addition the graphics viewer should allow enlargement of a particular area as well as adjustment of contrast and brightness. A suitable shareware viewer is LView Pro. Commercial software such as Adobe Photoshop are ideal but are expensive.
Please click on the above highlighted links to download the necessary software. Once you have downloaded the software please setup the software on your computer.

Downloading a Specific Case
Browse through all the specific cases presented. All cases are shown with images in thumbnail format which should give you an outline of the case itself. To help you decide on which case to download, please click on any of the thumbnail images to see the full picture or radiograph appear on your browser.
There are two tasks to complete in downloading a case:
Either save the case description and charts such as Periodontal charting as an html file to be viewed later in Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer. This can be done by selecting File - Save As - ... Thus the file can be viewed later by opening your browser or this information can be printed out. Once you have loaded the document on your browser then select File - Print and you will have a hard copy of the document.
The second task is to download the case images as described below.
To download a case simply click on the "download the case images (xxxKB)" near the bottom of the document and specify the directory or folder you want to save the downloaded file.
If you have installed an unzip program then simply clicking on the downloaded zip file will unzip the file. You can now start up your graphics viewer such as LView Pro and load the unzipped intraoral slides and radiographs as a slide show.

Viewing the Case
Start up your graphics browser. If you're using LView Pro then you can select File - Multiple Open and go to the directory where your unzipped files were saved. Select all the graphics files that you unzipped and add them to the slideshow. It is advisable to save the slideshow for easy reviewing.
